A sandblasted pipe offers a more rustic look and a specific touch. This finish is obtained by projecting fine sand or glass beads under pressure to hollow out the soft grains of the briar, leaving the hard grains in relief. Then, the briar bowl can be left natural or coloured. Sandblasting result depends on the softness of the wood and on the grain structure. The richer the wooden grain is, the most beautiful the sandblasting result is.
