A classic and easy-to-handle briar pipe

The “Au Caïd” pipe is an ideal choice for pipe smokers who prefer original but comfortable shapes. The chimney shape adds an elegant touch to this classic shape. With its removable metal filter, you can be assured that impurities will be retained for a purer smoking experience. The simple natural oil finish highlights the unique characteristics of the briar and emphasizes its grain. The whistle ebonite stem is soft under the tooth and the quarter-curved shape offers a comfortable grip and good balance in the mouth.

The briar pipe in the pictures is the exact one you will receive. It will be delivered with a carboard gift box with a cotton bag.

A briar pipe made with love in Saint-Claude!

Au Caïd was an iconic pipe shop located in the “Latin Quarter” in Paris. Established in 1878 and originally located at 24, Boulevard Saint Michel, it was managed by the same family during 4 generations. Taken over in 2002 by Chapuis-Comoy & Cie, it moved a few streets over at 12, rue Sorbonne and still offered in an old-fashioned decor, reconstituted identically, an assortment of articles for (pipe) smokers. The “Au Caïd” briar pipes were exclusively handcrafted and selected for this emblematic pipe shop, attended by famous or anonymous but always enthusiastic pipe smokers. The store closed its doors permanently in June 2018.
