Description

A thin and lightweight pipe with a natural stain.

This “Au Caïd” briar pipe features with a “Dublin” shape, a natural stain (simply oiled) and a long vulcanite mouthpiece. Lightweight (only 20g!), this briar pipe offers a comfortable mouth feel. Its long vulcanite and fishtail mouthpiece offers also a cool smooke. In fact, its long stem is designed to take the smoke away from your eyes and allows for a cooler smoother smoke compared to a standard pipe. Its conical bowl and smooth stain offer a pleasant touch and a natural grip. This elegant pipe features with a metal filter (also called a condensing filter). We recommend you to smoke this slim briar pipe slowly to prevent the overheating.

The briar pipe in the pictures is the exact one you will receive.

A minimalist and elegant briar pipe from Saint-Claude

Au Caïd was an iconic pipe shop located in the “Latin Quarter” in Paris. Established in 1878 and originally located at 24, Boulevard Saint Michel, it was managed by the same family during 4 generations. Taken over in 2002 by Chapuis-Comoy & Cie, it moved a few streets over at 12, rue Sorbonne and still offered in an old-fashioned decor, reconstituted identically, an assortment of articles for (pipe) smokers. The “Au Caïd” briar pipes were exclusively handcrafted and selected for this emblematic pipe shop, attended by famous or anonymous but always enthusiastic pipe smokers. The store closed its doors permanently in June 2018.
