A classic and easy-to-handle briar pipe 

This “Au Caïd” pipe has a classic billiard shape and a warming matte orange stain that highlights the natural grain of the briar. Its well-rounded bowl and shank offer a comfortable and natural grip. It has also a substantial wall thickness to prevent the overheating. It comes with a non-carbonised bowl, a vulcanite stem and a removable metal filter.

The briar pipe in the pictures is the exact one you will receive. It will be delivered with a carboard gift box with a cotton bag.

Au Caïd was an iconic pipe shop located in the “Latin Quarter” in Paris. Established in 1878 and originally located at 24, Boulevard Saint Michel, it was managed by the same family during 4 generations. Taken over in 2002 by Chapuis-Comoy & Cie, it moved a few streets over at 12, rue Sorbonne and still offered in an old-fashioned decor, reconstituted identically, an assortment of articles for (pipe) smokers. The “Au Caïd” briar pipes were exclusively handcrafted and selected for this emblematic pipe shop, attended by famous or anonymous but always enthusiastic pipe smokers. The store closed its doors permanently in June 2018.
