Description

A leather covered bent pipe made in Saint-Claude, France

This estate JEANTET pipe was handcrafted made in Saint-Claude in the 70’s. It is a classic bent pipe with a billiard shape. Well-balanced, this beloved shape offers a natural grip and a comfortable mouthfeel. Its briar bowl is entirely covered with a brown leather. This unsmoked Estate pipe is equipped with a vulcanite stem and a re-usable metal filter system (also called a condensing filter) that can be removed for easy cleaning.

The JEANTET company

The JEANTET factory was founded in 1816 in Saint-Claude, France. It previously operated a turnery producing in particular wooden shanks for porcelain pipes and wild cherry wood pipes. Over the years, the company increased their production of boxwood and briar pipes. In 1930’s, Jeantet firm decided to only manufacture briar pipes. Jeantet firm was merged in the Cuty Fort Group (est. 1987 and headed by Chapuis-Comoy & Cie) in 1988. Today, Jeantet pipes are manufactured in the Chapuis-Comoy workshops.
