The House of Gubbels

Gubbels is a renowned brand of tobacco pipes with a history dating back to 1870. Originally a retail store specializing in tobacco pipes, it later transformed into a major wholesale business importing pipes made of briar wood from France and England. After World War II, Gubbels started its own pipe production, and in 1972, the brand was granted the title of “Royal” by Queen Juliana of the Netherlands. They introduced the Royal Dutch brand to dispel the misconception that Big Ben pipes were of English origin.
